I would have thought one's perspective is affected by what one sees and believes rather than vice versa.

I tend to agree with Phyllis. The two are inextricably intertwined. Meaning what you see/believe and what you believe/see. But when you have an open mind, you can see not only the extremes of what you may believe, at first, and what you see as the opposite point of view, but also the thousands of other potential beliefs in between. If you can see the potential efficacy of the spectrum of all those beliefs, then you can approach the "thing/event" with new eyes and even with compassion. Comments are closed.
